New publication in the research journal "Current Research in Neurobiology"
25 February 2022, by Paula Drexler
The review article by Gluth et al. (2022) deals with memory-based decision-making from a neuroeconomic perspective and firstly, highlights neural and cognitive processes involved in decisions requiring memory processes. Here, a special focus is placed on episodic memory. Against the background of the results of a systematic research program, the authors then shed light on the phenomenon of memory bias, a preference for choice options that can be retrieved more successfully. The literature on this topic is summarized and in association with recent publications on the interplay between memory and decision-making discussed, before perspectives on the relevant field of research are considered.
