Research Focus
Before children use their first words, they already interact very intensively with their environment and their caregivers. These early communicative skills significantly influence subsequent language acquisition and are therefore of particular relevance. In my research, I investigate caregivers’ influence on the development of these language precursor skills. For this purpose, we observe infants in the first year of life interacting with their caregivers. In addition, we are developing an online remote method for these observations in order to collect diversified data and to reduce parental effort.
