Dear students,

Welcome to the website of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy at the University of Hamburg! The reform of psychotherapy studies has brought about a positive change - nationwide new professorships for clinical psychology and psychotherapy in childhood and adolescence are being established. Thus, in the future, students will gain more insights into clinical child and adolescent psychology as well as the specifics of therapeutic work with children and adolescents.

In the winter semester 2022/23, I will fill this new chair at the University of Hamburg as a substitute professor. The teaching activities include the lecture "Psychological disorders in childhood and adolescence and their development" as well as the accompanying seminars "Casuistics, childhood and adolescence". It is of great concern to me to provide all students with a sound basic knowledge of (developmental) psychological principles relevant to research, diagnosis and therapy of mental disorders in childhood and adolescence. I am happy if I can awaken your enthusiasm for child and adolescent psychotherapy and wish us all an interesting, instructive semester!
