Family Outpatient Clinic for Affective Disorders
Welcome to the Family Outpatient Clinic for Affective Disorders at the University of Hamburg. Our psychotherapeutic outpatient clinic offers outpatient psychotherapy for children and adolescents up to the age of 21, as well as for parents with affective disorders. On this page, you can learn more about our treatment services.
Our Mission: To treat mental disorders according to current standards, promote mental health, and support development.
Our mission is to provide the most effective possible treatment for mental disorders in children and adolescents. The treatment methods we offer are based on scientifically validated therapeutic approaches. Our university outpatient clinic provides a child-friendly, safe, and supportive environment in which we can offer treatment for children and adolescents, promote mental health, and support their individual development. Within this framework, we provide comprehensive psychological diagnostics and therapeutic support in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for our young patients. At present, we offer psychotherapy as part of university teaching and training (see teaching therapy).
Our Team: Experienced, empathetic, committed.
Our qualified team consists of child and adolescent psychotherapists as well as psychologists specializing in work with children and adolescents. Each individual brings unique qualifications and a passion for working with children and adolescents.
Our Services: Diverse and Effective Therapeutic Approaches for Individual Needs
We offer specialized support for a range of mental health disorders that may affect children and adolescents, such as anxiety disorders, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and eating disorders. Our therapeutic approaches are evidence-based methods that have been tested for effectiveness in line with current scientific standards. At the same time, our treatment services are tailored to the individual needs and specific circumstances of the children, adolescents, and families involved.
Schedule an Appointment: How to Proceed
At present, we offer child and adolescent psychotherapeutic treatment as part of teaching and training courses. This means that students in the advanced Master’s program with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy are involved in your child’s psychotherapy.
Registration with us consists of two parts: telephone registration during our consultation hours and submission of a completed registration form. We kindly ask that, for this call, a parent calls together with the child or adolescent. Once both steps have been completed, we will contact you to arrange an initial consultation appointment in the coming weeks.
