In two experiments, Felix Kalbe showed that prediction errors for aversive events were, beyond the well-established effects of physiological arousal, associated with an improved memory formation for related stimuli. The study entitled “Beyond arousal: prediction error related to aversive events promotes episodic memory formation” will be published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition. Congrats, Felix!
