Information event and Blind tennis workshop on Oktober 23, 2019
23 October 2019, by Nicola Kaczmarek
You are blind or visually impaired? You are interested in our work on brain plasticity?
Then we are happy to invite you to our second information event on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 4 pm!
In an interactive atmosphere, we would like to introduce ourselves and our work. Over drinks and snacks, we will inform you about our currently running projects and look forward to get to know you and to hear your personal experiences and opinions. Additionally, at the end we will play Blind tennis together! Blind tennis is still relatively new in Hamburg, and is played using an adapted sponge ball that makes a noise when it bounces and rules using short tennis rackets of no more than 56cm. The court used is the serving boxes of a normal tennis court with a slightly lowered net. To simulate different kinds of visual impairments for individuals with typical sight, we will provide special glasses.
