To better understand the phenotypic underpinnings of ERN, we examined its associations with several traits related to the obsessive-compulsive symptoms and anxiety . The data indicate that changes in error processing are associated with anxiety and negative affect across disorders. In contrast, increased monitoring of correct responses was specifically associated with obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
