Research
Research In the area of clinical neuroscience, we investigate changes in neuronal processes that contribute to the development and maintenance of mental disorders, with a focus on anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders. We are particularly interested in neuronal risk factors that promote the development of symptoms and disorders.
- The research is focused on three main areas:
experimental psychopathology to study the mechanisms contributing to vulnerability, development and maintenance of mental disorders - Investigation of the predictive validity of neuronal risk factors for symptom development and therapeutic success
- Development and adaptation of interventions based on neuroscientific findings.
Methods used: event-related potentials and oscillations in the EEG, startle reflex, skin conductance, neuropsychological measurements and behavioural data
