Postdoc position in Visual Neuroscience: Neuroplasticity related to visual impairment
We seek a post-doctoral scientist with an interest in brain imaging research (Magnet Resonance Imaging) on neuroplasticity as a consequence of visual impairments.
The position is part of a joined research project of the Biological Psychology and Neuropsychology lab (BPN) of the University of Hamburg (Germany) and the LV Prasad Eye Institute (Hyderabad, India) (the Indo-German Lab).
We expect experience in conducting structural and functional brain imaging research in humans, including a good understanding of the hardware and software needs for taskdependent fMRI. Some background in MRI physics is of advantage. A high proficiency in oral and written English is required.
The candidate is expected to set up brain imaging studies in humans at a private radiology department in Hyderabad (India) and to support brain imaging studies of the Indo-German lab. Depending on the qualification, the candidate will get the opportunity to conduct own MRI studies on sight restoration.
The start date will be decided by mutual agreement, but we hope to fill this position latest by January 2024. The contract will be issued by the LV Prasad Eye Institute. The salary is set based on the available qualification. The current project will end in 09/2025, but an extension by two more years will be likely possible.
To apply for the position or to request further information, please e-mail your letter of motivation, CV and names of two referees to: Prof. Dr. Brigitte Röder: Brigitte.Roeder"AT"uni.hamburg.de (www.bpn.uni-hamburg.de).
