Kai Härpfer and Hannes Per Carsten published their first article in our department last week. Congratulations!
The authors summarize their results as follows:
In our study we investigated the impact of two transdiagnostic anxiety dimensions (anxious apprehension and anxious arousal) on the neuronal correlates of action monitoring. For that reason, we utilized the event-related potential called Error-Related Negativity (ERN). Previous studies have mainly found an association of anxious apprehension and ERN in clinical samples (e.g., in patients with generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder or social anxiety disorder). Our study aimed at investigating this association in a non-clinical sample. Our analyses did not reveal any association of the two anxiety dimensions with the ERN.
